Cereal for breakfast

When you wake up in the morning, it's likely that you haven't eaten for up to 12 hours. So the first meal of the day is crucial, because it helps refuel the body and brain with energy and nutrients after a night's sleep.

The nutrients in whole grain breakfast cereals have been associated with a wide range of health benefits, (from aiding digestion and weight management) and helping to maintain a healthy heart.

Nestlé Breakfast cereals are typically:

  • Low in total and saturated fat
  • High in carbohydrates
  • A good source of fibre
  • Fortified with vitamins and minerals such as B vitamins, calcium and iron
  • A bowl of breakfast cereal with semi-skimmed milk is typically a lower calorie, fat and sugar meal compared with many other breakfast foods.

All Nestlé cereals contain whole grain.

Eating cereal for breakfast can also be an important step in helping to manage body weight. People who eat breakfast cereal containing whole grain have a lower intake of fat overall and are less likely to snack through the day. Whole grain breakfast cereals are generally low in fat and high in carbohydrates and fibre.

All our cereals and bars are made with whole grain. Studies have shown that people who eat whole grain foods every day as part of a low fat diet and healthy lifestyle are less likely to gain weight over time and have a healthy heart.
