About us

Our responsibilities

Protecting the environment

Cereal Partners UK makes breakfast cereals from raw ingredients which are grown naturally. That's why it makes good business sense for us to protect and nurture the land from which our products come.

Our starting point is to comply 100% with regulations on environmental business practices. Beyond that, we make every effort to minimise the impact our production has on the environment, for example by reducing the amount of energy we use.

We aim to use all our expertise and experience in manufacturing to create a sustainable future locally, nationally and globally.

Sourcing the best ingredients

One thing we will never compromise is the quality and safety of our breakfast cereals. To ensure the highest quality, we require all our relevant suppliers to be accredited to the BRC (British Retail Consortium), who have established their Global Standard to protect consumers.

The wheat which makes our cereals so nutritious and healthy is sourced from farms across the UK and grown under the Farm Assured Combinable Crops Scheme which helps to protect quality. For further information please visit http://www.assuredcrops.co.uk.

Responsible advertising

We understand that children enjoy and benefit from our breakfast cereals as much as anyone. There are now stringent regulations that have been designed to protect children from advertising.

Cereal Partners UK follows these codes and in addition has its own set of Consumer Communication Principles. These principles ensure, for example, that our advertising:

  • is not misleading about the benefits of using our products.
  • does not undermine the authority of parents.
  • encourages healthy eating and nutrition choices.
  • advocates active lifestyles as a key component of health and wellness.
  • complies with all laws, regulations and standards.

Labelling that's helpful

We know that parents and families want easily accessible information about the food that they eat. So Nestlé cereals have guideline daily amount (GDA) information on the front of our packs, to help you make quick and informed choices about which cereals best meet your needs.

We were one of the first companies to include GDA labelling on the front of our cereals. The labelling shows the amount of calories, sugars, fat, saturates and salt per serving. It also shows the percentage of your daily amount of the key nutrients contained in one serving.

Nutrition at the heart of our business

Cereal Partners UK aim is to help make it easier for our customers to live more healthy lifestyles. That's why we provide a wide range of enjoyable, convenient and nutritious products.

We aim to continually improve our established favourite cereals, as well as developing new products. For example, we have launched the Oats & More range of cereals and reduced the sugar and salt levels in a number of existing cereals.

Part of the community

Part of the Cereal Partners company culture is to contribute to the local communities in which we have offices and factories. In Welwyn Garden City, Cereal Partners UK Head Office, we have a long history of supporting charities and community projects.

Box Tops for Books, launched in 1999, is our nationwide scheme to encourage school children to enjoy reading by collecting tokens from the top of cereal packets. So far over half of the schools in the UK have registered to the scheme, which will continue to run in 2009/'10.
